I'm here in the media center at Magny Cours. Picked up a motorhome in Paris and got a good set up with the 'real' riders in the pits. Plenty of work to do then testing the superbike and supersport bikes on Monday - can't wait just got to shake this jetlag off arghh

offlineAdministratorinteresting tyre info - Pirelli have supplied some new tyres for the weekend in the hope of finding a solution for 2011. There is a new medium-soft (SC1) front hoped to replace the current A front for 2011 and a new Medium (SC2) for additional front feel and mid corner grip. If the fronts work this weekend, Pirelli will provide the two tyres for next year rather than have the choice of three. The two new rears are a medium-soft (SC1) to maybe replace the current M625 and a new medium (SC2) confirmed for 2011. The idea is to give two fronts and two rears next year - both solutions with a wider temperature range - rather than the three more narrowly focussed tyres available this year.
There is also an all new qualifier being tried this weekend (SCO) which lasts four to five laps. It was hoped that the tyre would be used last round but rain put a stop to that.In supersport there is a new soft front and a new medium-soft rear being introduced this weekend.Posted 1 year ago # -

offlineAdministratorCal Crutchlow (Yamaha Sterilgarda) battled to the head of the pre-race rankings at Magny-Cours, taking a new track best of 1'37.699 in Superpole Three.
Series regular Sylvain Guintoli (Suzuki Alstare) rode to second place at his home round, while Jakub Smrz (Pata B&G Aprilia) made it three different bikes in the top three grid positions.
The front row for tomorrow's races was completed by new champion, Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia).

He will be followed off the grid by the only rider who can overhaul him in the season finale tomorrow, Eugene Laverty (Parkalgar Honda).
