cheers for the reply, seeing as its injected i would go supercharged over turbo as that has been done many times now.

you just need to play with the cylinder head and throttle bodies and exhaust to increase the engines CFM.
this will include opening up the ports and reshaping (please dont polish the inlet ports)
bigger valves
throttle bodies, maybe from an R1
cam regrind (nothing too serious tho!!! or you wont enjoy riding the bike)
sports exhaust system
thinner head gasketyou will be able to turn you bike into a monster with those mods, and will be cheaper than a turbo !!!

yes there is no substitute for cubes but your bike already has cubes, you just need to use the cubes you have more efficiently by letting it breath better!not only will it be the cheapest option but your bike will be a "SLEEPER"

he been racing in andra since I was a small child.
he used to have the record in the old "superbike class" on his z900
he also had one of the first turbo no bar bikes in australia, he raced a z900 with a turbo funnybike motor in it back in the 80's
and more recently he upgraded to a 1500cc mod bike suzuki, probably most recognisable by the gold/magenta harlequin paint.
we sold that bike 5 years ago and started circuit racing.If your a drag racer you'd probably know my mate Corey Scholes from Compbike?

A whole heap of bits and pieces have been removed and replaced by bits we prefer.
Lots more ideas being tossed about.
Haven't told Jeff yet but I reckon the XJR13 needs a unique and distinct paintjob. Something along the lines of an early 80s Superbike.
Right, over to you all for input. Paintshop experts are more than welcome to share their ideas.

As we were locking up the workshop this evening, yet another discussion about turbos happened. I love the feel of a well-tuned turbo but I also love that old-style cammy hot rod-style of motor.
Most of the parts required to do a turbo kit are already sitting on the shelves. Yeah, they're second-hand but still perfectly suitable.
Buggered if I know which way we'll go with the XJR with no name.
A mate has done a couple of different photoshop renderings of the XJR. Lots to think about. . .

i would definitely go the turbo route as the nitrous idea is good but there's alot more seperate parts to go wrong, for example my bike has not been used for a couple of years and both solenoids will need new seals and the fuel sitting in the fuel pump has killed it!, with a turbo when set up correctly would be a constant and reliable option (and sound the nuts).if it was a 99 year like mine i would next be fitting yoshi cams and tmr40 carbs to give it more power when normally aspirated.

Timewise, neither a custom-made big-bore kit or a turbo kit is not an option for us due to magazine deadlines.
There are performance limitations in the design of the head. The included valve angle limits valve size.
The suspension has just been upgraded by Trooper Lu's Garage and the improvement is huge.
We also had the seat attended to by Kev at VCM Seats and that was a bloody good move. Comfort plus.
