   Estoril MotoGP - Friday practice times (2)
   Full Friday free practice times (2) from the Portuguese MotoGP, round 17 of the 2010 world championship.
   Carlos Checa is returning to MotoGP for the final two rounds in place of Mika Kallio at Pramac Ducati. Checa raced in MotoGP from 1995 to 2007, winning two races, before moving to WSBK.

   Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi is riding this weekend despite being diagnosed with fractures to the right foot he injured in Malaysia, on top of the groin injury he sustained last time out in Australia.

   Former title contender Dani Pedrosa, who withdrew from the Australian event after attempting an early return from a broken collarbone, will be aiming to last the full weekend at Estoril.

   MotoGP is returning to two Friday practice sessions for the last two rounds of this season, but this morning's session saw only Hiroshi Aoyama and Checa record a lap time due to heavy rain.

   FP2 was also wet, but track conditions were much better than this morning...

   MotoGP qualifying abandoned at Estoril
   No qualifying at Estoril, free practice to decide grid positions.
   Race direction has decided to abandon all qualifying at Estoril after rain continued relentlessly on Saturday afternoon.

   Friday morning practice had been a washout, before wet sessions took place on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

   But the rain got even worse thereafter, initially causing qualifying to be delayed and then cancelled when conditions failed to improve.

   Combined free practice times will therefore be used to decide the grid line-up for all three of the grand prix classes.

   For MotoGP, that means new world champion Jorge Lorenzo continues his perfect premier-class form at Estoril with his third pole from three appearances.

   The Fiat Yamaha rider will be chasing his third Estoril victory in a row on Sunday.

   Lorenzo will be joined on the front row by Ducati's Nicky Hayden and team-mate Valentino Rossi.

   The full MotoGP qualifying order will be as follows:

   Ben Spies fell on the way to the grid and was unable to start the race, which was held in the dry.

   There had not been any dry track time before the race.
