The Hayabusa is the ultimate sports touring hyperbike... but is it getting long in the tooth? Can the VFR take some of the spotlight off the Busa or is the 1200 to lame power wise?

The VFR looks have grown on me, but if I was going to drop $25k on a bike I'd have the BMW K1300R in a heartbeat. Between the Busa & the VFR, the Busa is cheaper, better looking & faster.
"The Hayabusa is the ultimate sports touring hyperbike" - says who?
I could hardly think of a better sports-touring bike, but then I thought really hard for about 10 seconds and came up with six.
And none of the ones that I thought of looked like their fairings had melted either.
What about the Blackbird then? Still bang for buck as a used ride and I swear the partisan of Blackbird/Busa owners is wider than ever...
Too bad I can't reach the ground properly on the Blackbird because of my short legs otherwise I wouldn't mind giving one a go just for sh&ts and giggles.
i think there is some really awesome bikes comeing all the time.the busa has been here along time im not saying its a bad thing as im a busa owner and love the bike but there is some really awesom bikes k1300 bmw is impressive the vfr 1200 is right on par as well . its never easy to say a certian bike is better or worse than the busa as the busa has been going strong for 10yrs now , but sure as shit there will be something to pip it at the post . and thats a good thing to make the boys in japan to step up to the next level and create the GEN 3 busa .
just food for thourt

If there is one bike that is due for a comeback AND an overhaul, it's the VTR1000f. Solid engine, solid built - just dated and desperately needs a revamp, considering it's got a cult following in Australia.
Bring back the large Honda twins!
Our last comparo between the Busa GenII and K 1200 S was a tough one. Busa still smashes the BMW in the 1/4 mile, top speed and generally in acceleration but the electronics and rider comforts on the BMW are fantastic. In the end though, with much more compliant suspension and sharper handling the Hayabusa is still the best overall Hyperbike in my opinion. The Blackbird was always brilliant but lacked quality suspension and brakes. The VFR1200 handles superbly but lacks power. Suzuki do need to freshen up the Busa though. It needs ABS and TC for a start...
I would love to ride a VFR1200 just for comparo. I love my GEN1, always will. I know the GEN2's are quicker & slightly more refined & the ZX14 is a good run for it's money but I LOVE the raw grunt & feeling of my bus, it's kinda like an old school worked v8.
I think it is time Suzuki looked hard at some revamps for a GEN3 but they don't need to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Yes it sin't as technologically advanced as the beemer but it is also a lot less $$ for the bang than the big german.
I think the busa will always be another cult bike like the Kat. You either love them or hate them!
