   Hi,

   With general trepidation i would like to get the opinion of those in the forum.

   What helmet best suits a naked bike (str)?

   At present I am using a KBC VR-2R, which was fine when i was riding a fully faired sports bike, but, am now finding it creates an enormous amout of lift at higher speeds, so much so it feels like my head will detach from my neck!
   I in no way want to detract from the look of the naked bike by putting on a girly fly screen.
   I was looking at the Shoei X-12....does anyone out there have any experience with a good aerodynamic helmet?
   Its is difficult to "test ride" helmets, unlike bikes.

   I love my Shoei TZ-X. The aerodynamics are definitely improved over my previous Shoei TZ-R.

   That's been tested at speeds up to about 210-220 km/h on our Project XJR1300 at the dragstrip and at Eastern Creek. Never above the speed limit on the road.

   As you pointed out, buying a helmet is hard as you can't road test them.

   Hi there,
   Have found my Craft RX6 to be quite good. Quiet enough (it'll never be perfect on a naked I don't think) & no real lift (tested at about the same speed as above).
   Has good ventilation too, & visor stays clear wet & dry conditions.
   If you've got the coin for an X-12 though, I can only imagine it would be better?

   Hi I've got a entry level HJC and I find duct taping to tank only way to keep it on my head at high speed on the XJR...... Let us know how you go as I need to upgrade.

   No Worries, will let you know when i can sneak the upgrade past the chief financial officer, as have had a bit of a pre christmas spend with triumph, bestem, powerbronze, f.fabbri and pro-bolt, so might just be pushing it a bit at the moment....did order a small (girly) fly screen, so will see how it all looks, still want to change up for the shoei though.

   Thanks Ryan,

   Really like the look of the Schuberth, but, don't think they are available in Australia or meet Oz Standards (probably do or exceed them, but, they maybe can't be bothered going through the hassle to bring them in). Looks like they have a dealer in Kiwi that sells sprinkler heads.
   Understand they (Schuberth) make helmets for BMW......

   Mmmm seems like you need one of those pesky little stickers...... I have heard from a couple of mates that they rate their shark helmets not sure which model. I have a shoie xr1100, it's been a good helmet. I wouldn't call it quiet compared to an old Aria but I think I should probably adjust the visor to give a fair comparison.
