   Hi there,
   Just signed up - have been reading a while, & Rapid inspired me to try & build a "budget" Streetfighter so I could (finally - after 8 years!) get back on 2 wheels. The project took me 13 months to get on the road, & while I am happy with the result there were far more headaches than I expected...
   Anyway, there are a few things I need to do to finish it off (mainly cosmetic) then I will send the photos & story to Rapid.
   Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you.

   I don't know about the "fun" thing. I guess it would be if I had another bike to ride while I was sorting it out, but when it's your only ride (or will be once it's complete!) the shine kinda goes off the process.
   Anyway, I'm glad it's going now & thanks for the welcome.

   Sorry - by way of "proper" introduction I should add some more detail?

   Name is Paul, from sunny Shellharbour on the South Coast. Have been riding bikes since I was 10 (first MX, then road as soon as I could), with the exception of the 8 years mentioned earlier.
   I also spent a couple of years working in one of our local bike shops a while ago.
   Spent the last year or so doing up my budget 'Fighter, inspired by Rapid's own $5000 race bike. I figured that if you could do a track bike for that, I should be able to put something decent on the street for a few more $. I was right! Anyway, the details of that are for another story.
   Anyone local to me who likes to ride feel free to give me a shout. I'm on shift work, so can (sometimes) be pretty flexible about when I ride.
