I have a 06 GSX1400 and am told they are spark retarded in the first 3 gears, was aslo told you can get a simple plug in module that overrides the retard. Its not a powercommander.

I had an 06 GSX 1400, The item you are after is called a suzuki TRE. Timing Retard Eliminator.
Not sure of the exact details however I believe the bike is only retearded in the first half of the turn of the throttle through the first 3 or 4 gears.
The TRE tricks the ECU into thinking it's in fifth gear giving it full power on initial openeing.
I found a considerable difference in the power delivery.
Can't remember hearing about any warnings or issues with it however I'm sure it can't be ideal for the engine.
The only problem I found was the bike chewed the rear tyre's.
A friend of mine ran 10.91 on a completely stock standard GSX1400. Oh yeah, he'd changed the bars but everything else was 100% factory. He's an average-sized bloke of about 90-100kg.
Not sure if a TRE is really worth the money.
Save your bucks and invest in a PC5 when you fit a full exhaust system.
You could try gsx1400.org, I'm sure someone on there has tried every possible different combo.
AFAIK they don't make PCV for the 1400.
thanks fellas, might just change to a K&N filter,better pipe, advance the ignition and dyno the bike, baby should straighten out my elbows then.
