offlineMemberWhat's your story Spiky? I've being riding a duc myself for 10 years , never had any troubles at all. People tell me stories or make comments like yours and 100% of the time is some friend of a friend that had some issues, but I never seem to be lucky enough to meet them directly.

offlineMemberI've got a mate who I ride with who has an immaculate S4. Last two rides have involved much merriment band-aiding it back together at the side of the road. No-one minds, so it's no biggie.
I helped another friend with the legalities of returning his new Monster 1100 back to Ducati for a full refund late last year - after it had already been swapped once. If it's important to you, I can introduce you to them whilst we're out & about.
I really don't mind Ducatis - I came wthin a whisker of buying one about a month ago in fact. Great bikes, and they go well. If I had bought one, I would have taken it warts and all, as I knew what I was getting myself into.....my decision not to buy one was not based on my prior experience, but simply because I found a more suitable bike.
Don't take what I say to heart, eh?

Get your mate in the forum, maybe we can start one on "ducati urban myths". I had an S4 myself and couldn't brake it if I wanted, in fact it scared the crap out of me, no so much its power, I was scared of myself on it. Had to force myself to slow down so now I ride a Multi and woudn't swap it for anything but the new 1200.I guess its the luck of the draw, I wouldn't take on an argument taking a "brand" to hart, I learnt the hard way to follow my instincts and what I like , wouldn't be a South's supporter otherwise!! ;)

offlineAdministratorAwesome ride on the Streetfighter today. Great bike first OEM naked bike I've ridden that power wheelies in third gear. In fact no 1000s even do that - insane. Great chassis if a little vague in the front, which spoils an otherwise good ride. Lots of fun finally some sunshine today....

it i thought for sure the Streetfighter S would win it, then i realised
that everyone took into consideration touring/comfort, and Price/maintenance costs. It was a 1000K ride afterall, but there's no disputing the power and handling capabilities of the Streetfighter! I am pleased with the outcome though as i own a 2010 Z1000 ;-)
