ISSUE NOVEMBER 2008

RAPID BIKES November Issue.

The end of the year is fast approaching but that doesn’t mean Rapid Bikes is slowing down!
It’s at this time of year that all the new models begin to appear and we have a comprehensive run down of the new Yamaha R1, Aprilia RSV4, Kawasaki ZX-6R, Suzuki GSX-R1000K9 and the bike we’ve all been waiting for, the BMW S 1000 RR.
Erik Buell’s new 1125CR café racer/streetfighter was launched in Germany recently and Bertie Simmonds was there to bring you the good oil. The 1125SC’s brother, the 1125R goes up against the KTM RC8 in a BEARS Battle of the Twins hosted by Pommie and Rennie.
Mick Withers takes the Yamaha FJR1300 out of its natural habitat to WSID, panniers and all, while Simon Harris has a run on the biggest-selling bike in Japan, Honda’s CB400. It’s again time to cast your vote for the Modified Bike Of The Year. We have toiled, argued, and drank our way to a list of 10 finalists so now the decision lies with you. By the way, you get a sweet winner’s pack from Warrian Enterprises if your’s is the winning vote!
Mark Trounson’s bad-arse turbo Street Rod is our main feature bike this month and is solidly backed up be a 420-horsepower ZX-12R turbo and a home brewed Bandit that’ll scare anyone in its path…
The Tuned Ride for November is Tony Lawatzki’s big-bore FZR1000 and the Used Ride is a 1996 Kawasaki ZX-7R. Jeff and Heather headed up to Queensland recently with Bernie Hatton and Daryl Beattie to check out an Army Air Base loaded with motorcyclists. Jeff also took a bit of time out to take part in the 2008 BMW Safari in Far North Queensland and has a full report for you.
The second instalment of Greg McDonald’s Computrack story and part three of our chronicle on the legendary Kenny Blake rounds out our November features.
Jeff has Project RSX550 almost singing and Rennie signs in from Tassie with his report on the latest round of the FZ6 Cup.
Add to all that our regular columnists like Gilesey and WG and the 2008 World Supersport Champion, Andrew Pitt, news on drag racing, stunting, and stripping in a ‘Busa in workshop and you will have something to keep you occupied all month. Go out and grab a copy today!
